for more than 23 years, maria has been performing in bars, restaurants, and fundraisers in new england and cape cod. having grown up in new york in the 60’s and 70’s, she draws inspiration from artist like linda ronstadt, bonnie raitt, janis joplin, dolly parton, fleetwood mac, carly simon, carol king, eagles, beatles, sheryl crow and john mellencamp to create a blend of folk, rock, and blues. in 2020, maria composed and produced her first original cd entitled “this one’s for my friends”. maria’s vocals have been compared to the tones of linda ronstadt, melissa etheridge, amy ray, patty griffin, and dolly parton. maria joined pink houses in the summer of 2024 where she provides harmonies, background vocals, and rhythm guitar. she is also the lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist in dous acoustic fire and maria & den. she has performed in various local bands and enjoys performing in her community at a number of fundraisers for the american cancer society, relay for life, toys for tots, veteran’s day celebration, local town common concert and boston’s christmas in the city. maria currently lived outside of boston with her husband, denis. she recently retired from a 27 - year career in special education which will give her more time to make music!
